Schneider Electric’s Dubai HQ ‘The NEST’ Sets New Gold Standard for Intelligent, Inclusive Buildings

LEED Platinum and WELL Equity certifications underscore the company’s net-zero vision and people-first workplace strategy

SME News Service

Schneider Electric has once again raised the bar for future-ready workspaces in the Middle East, with its Dubai headquarters, The NEST, achieving LEED ID+C Platinum and WELL Equity certifications. The dual recognition reinforces the global energy technology leader’s commitment to delivering buildings that balance climate responsibility, digital intelligence, and human wellbeing.

Spanning over 10,000 square metres and supporting more than 1,000 employees, The NEST had already earned a perfect 100 score and Platinum rating from WiredScore Smart Score last year. The latest certifications further cement its position as one of the region’s most advanced and people-centric commercial buildings.

A Living Lab for Net-Zero and Human-Centric Design

Developed in collaboration with Gensler, JLL, and Cundall, The NEST integrates AI, automation, digital twin technology, and Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure™ solutions from the ground up. These innovations enable up to 37% energy savings, while avoiding 572 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually—demonstrating how intelligent infrastructure can deliver measurable environmental impact.

Beyond energy performance, the building embodies inclusive design principles, prioritising accessibility, flexibility, and employee wellbeing across all spaces.

Performance by Design: Sustainability Meets Equity

As Schneider Electric’s flagship Impact Building, The NEST’s sustainability credentials include:

  • 48% reduction in energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions

  • 40% of annual energy demand met through on-site solar photovoltaics

  • 75% of construction waste diverted from landfill through circular practices

  • 88% reduction in parking capacity to encourage sustainable mobility

  • Daylight access for 81% of regularly occupied areas and quality views for 77%

While LEED Platinum recognises excellence in energy efficiency, water conservation, materials, and indoor environmental quality, the WELL Equity certification highlights Schneider Electric’s commitment to fairness, inclusivity, and diverse working needs—ensuring all occupants can thrive.

A Blueprint for the Future of Work in the Middle East

“At Schneider Electric, we don’t just advise customers on building smarter and more sustainable spaces—we live by these principles every day,” said Amel Chadli, President, Gulf Cluster, Schneider Electric. “The NEST reflects our belief that sustainability and inclusivity are not competing priorities, but complementary pillars of workplace excellence.”

As regional initiatives such as the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030 accelerate demand for high-performance buildings, The NEST stands as a compelling benchmark—proving that intelligent buildings are not aspirational concepts, but achievable, scalable realities.
