Emirates Park Zoo & Resort Leads the Way in Environmental Stewardship

Emirates Park Zoo & Resort has announced the successful completion of a massive beach clean-up at Al Bahia Beach in Abu Dhabi.

The goal was to protect the pristine beauty of the region's beaches and ensure the safety of marine life. The team had an amazing turnout of volunteers who achieved outstanding results.

As part of their commitment to being environmentally friendly, Emirates Park Zoo & Resort joined the beach clean-up on May 15.

Around 15-20 staff members eagerly participated in the initiative, aligning with ongoing eco-friendly campaigns programs and efforts to promote responsible practices.

These enthusiastic volunteers, coming from different backgrounds, tirelessly combed the coastline of Al Bahia Beach, collecting and disposing of litter and debris.

The volunteers managed to remove over 100 kilograms of debris. It included plastic bottles, fishing lines, rubber mats, broken glass bottles, Styrofoam, nylon ropes, metals, and rags.

Dr Waleed, Hussein Zoo Director & Deputy CEO of Emirates Park Zoo & Resort, expressed his admiration for the team's enthusiasm and determination. He mentioned that “their unity and dedication to preserving the region's natural beauty were truly inspiring.

He added: "By eliminating these harmful pollutants, we've made a significant contribution to safeguarding local marine life and creating a safer environment for everyone.

“We hope this fantastic initiative acts as a catalyst for ongoing efforts to combat pollution and promote sustainable practices throughout Abu Dhabi as part of our commitment to protecting the environment as a leading destination in the UAE and aligning with Abu Dhabi’s aim to become the first zero-waste Emirate."

Emirates Park Zoo & Resort remains determined to make the region a cleaner and healthier place. We'll keep engaging with the community, collaborating with Al Shahama Municipality, through education, advocacy, and more initiatives focused on reducing pollution, raising environmental awareness, and driving animal welfare projects.
