Etihad Airways has bagged the Sustainability Middle East Net Zero Initiative of the Year Award. Sustainable initiatives are voluntary, non-regulatory programs intended to protect the environment in unique and novel ways.

These initiatives aim at creating long-term stakeholder value through the implementation of a strategy that focuses on the ethical, social, environmental, cultural, and economic dimensions.

This award is a token to honour such initiatives in the field today, as well as to recognize the very best.

Etihad has recently pledged to reach a 20% reduction in emissions intensity by 2025, and by 2035, the company aims to have cut 2019 net emissions by 50%.

They are also leading the development of sustainable aviation fuels, and using a first-of-its-kind tech to make sure its aircraft are as fuel-efficient as possible.
