“If the customers have not demanded it, we have provided it,” said Hans Ettengruber, MD of DIMOS FZE while taking part in the discussions on Sustainability at the Future of Logistics Conference Part II hosted by our sister publication Transport & Logistics Middle East.

DIMOS provides all its automated systems with electric drives and customers have been willing to pay for them, added Mr Ettengruber.

Meanwhile, governments were a playing a major role in setting frameworks and guidelines all over the world for companies to become more sustainable. However, true sustainability cannot be achieved by frameworks alone, but they had to be implemented on the ground.

This process will be gradual and take a few years as machinery and infrastructure is built to create sustainable logistics operations, concluded Mr Ettengruber.
