Trading Enterprises Hosts Talk Show on Fashion with Amanda Rushforth

In line with Volvo Cars sustainability efforts towards climate-neutrality, Al-Futtaim Trading Enterprises, official representative of Volvo Cars in UAE, partners with Environmental Consultant Amanda Rushforth, to host a Smarter Shopping and Sustainable Fashion Talk.

Amanda, a TED speaker and a Board Director at Azraq, a UAE marine conservation organisation, will discuss the challenges of fast fashion, the rapid, mass production of synthetic, poor quality, and ultimately disposable clothing highlighting the key factors of reducing textile waste.

The discussion will also focus on tackling fashion’s heavy carbon footprint with an aim to achieve a carbon-neutral fashion industry, built on equality, social justice, animal welfare, and ecological integrity.

Al-Futtaim Trading Enterprises, the official representative of Volvo Cars in the UAE, will continue making strides to meet Volvo Cars strategy to provide customers with the Freedom to Move in a personal, sustainable and safe way, the company stated.

"The committment is reflected in our ambition to become a fully electric car maker by 2030 and in its commitment to an ongoing reduction of its carbon footprint, with the ambition to be a climate-neutral company by 2040," the company added.

The Volvo Cars and Amanda Rushforth (Smarter Shopping and Sustainable Fashion) talk has been scheduled on 21st January, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm in Volvo Studio, Festival Plaza, Jebel Ali, Dubai.
