Aerzen, a global leader in blowers, compressors, and turbo technologies, has taken a decisive leap in its growth trajectory by acquiring GPE Turbo, a renowned specialist in advanced turbo solutions.
The move significantly broadens Aerzen’s product portfolio for the process gas, energy, steel, oil & gas, and industrial sectors, reinforcing its position as a technology-driven market leader.
Founded in 1864, Aerzen has built a formidable reputation for manufacturing high-performance machines for gas conveying and compression. Its range of blowers, compressors and turbo systems is known for energy efficiency, reliability, and innovation, setting industry benchmarks across process air and compressed air generation.
With GPE Turbo now integrated, Aerzen expands its turbo portfolio into the upper pressure and high-volume segment, enabling the company to serve more complex and large-scale industrial requirements.
GPE Turbo, based in Leipzig, is recognised for its single and multi-stage turbo systems tailored for process gas applications. Its strength lies in customised, future-oriented solutions, including green technologies and hydrogen-compatible systems.
With an in-house R&D centre and manufacturing capabilities, GPE Turbo offers rapid, application-specific development—making it a valuable addition to Aerzen’s technology ecosystem.
The acquisition enables Aerzen to offer:
Turbo compressors up to 300 bar pressure
Volume flows up to 300,000 m³/h for heavy industries
Expanded single-stage low-pressure turbo solutions up to 1.5 bar
Extended high-volume flow capacity up to 100,000 m³/h beyond its Generation 5 and 5plus series
Industries such as oil & gas, chemical engineering, steel production, power generation, wastewater treatment, mining, and vapour compression stand to benefit from the enhanced capabilities.
“Aerzen and GPE Turbo share the same DNA, values, and vision,” said Klaus Peter Glöckner, Managing Director, Aerzen Worldwide. “Together, we will deliver innovative strength and solutions that push our customers forward.”
Echoing the sentiment, Ralf Stephani of GPE Turbo added that integration into Aerzen’s global network will accelerate the global reach of its customised turbo technologies.
The Aerzen–GPE Turbo integration creates a formidable powerhouse in turbo and compressor technologies. With expanded product depth, global reach, and a shared innovation mindset, the combined entity is set to deliver next-generation solutions for industries transitioning toward efficiency, sustainability, and advanced process engineering.
