DP World’s Eco-friendly Infra: H.E Mariam Almheiri Tours Terminal 4 at Jebel Ali Port

Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Minister of Climate Change & Environment, and the MOCCAE team, toured Jebel Ali Terminal 4, to witness DP World UAE’s innovative automated operations at Boxbay, alongside Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO & Managing Director, DP World GCC.

Her Excellency and the delegation explored Building 4 at Jebel Ali Port, where they discovered the smart and eco-friendly BoxBay container storage system. This system runs solely on electricity and can also harness solar power from the photovoltaic panels on its surface.

Ms Maha Al Qattan, Group chief sustainability officer - DP World, also shared with the delegation the group's plan to significantly reduce carbon emissions from its worldwide operations. Additionally, she highlighted the group's commitment to ensuring sustainable flow of goods and global food access for all.

On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation was acquainted with the operations of the AlKhaleej Sugar Refinery at Jebel Ali Port, which is considered the world's largest sugar refining facility.
