Cleanco, one of the UAE’s largest Environmental Services Providers (ESP) for medical and hazardous waste treatment, has achieved a major milestone by significantly expanding its processing capacity.
The development strengthens the company’s role in supporting the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy and the Abu Dhabi Waste Diversion Target 2030, while meeting the rising national demand for safe, compliant, and sustainable waste management.
This achievement comes at a time when the UAE’s biomedical waste management market is projected to reach USD 67 million in 2025, and the hazardous waste sector is expected to hit USD 235.8 million by 2030—signalling the growing importance of advanced and reliable waste solutions across the country.
Cleanco’s expanded capacity is powered by sustained investments in cutting-edge systems, particularly its Rotary Kiln Incineration (RKI) technology, recognised as one of the European Union’s Best Available Techniques (BAT).
The company operates two RKI facilities—in Al Dhafra and Al Ain—designed and operated in line with EU Directive 2000/76/EC and UAE Emission Standards.
The technology enables a 90–95% reduction in waste volume, safely converting hazardous material into ash, which is then disposed of in secure Class I Hazardous Waste Engineered Cells.
Furthering its commitment to circularity, Cleanco is collaborating with leading partners to develop fly-ash recovery and conversion innovations, reinforcing national efforts to minimise environmental impact and maximise resource value.

As part of its growth strategy, Cleanco has expanded into the industrial waste treatment segment, strengthening its capacity to support diverse sectors across the UAE.
The company oversees a specialised fleet of around 25 collection and transportation vehicles, enabling reliable waste logistics that comply with strict environmental and safety regulations.
Cleanco currently serves approximately 3,000 hospitals, clinics, commercial facilities, and industrial establishments, ensuring end-to-end management that is safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible.
Beyond its core operations, Cleanco has also played a key role in projects like the Al Qusais Landfill Gas initiative, which includes landfill capping, gas recovery infrastructure, and pipeline networks—reinforcing the company’s contributions to national sustainability efforts.
