Drydocks World Breaks Ground on Smart, Sustainable Dubai Headquarters
Drydocks World, one of the region’s most important marine and offshore service providers, has officially started construction on a new smart and sustainable head office in Dubai.
More than just a building, the project represents a significant milestone in the company’s long-running effort to modernise its operations and strengthen its global leadership.
Drydocks World Unveils Major Expansion to Lead Global Renewables and Marine Products
Scheduled for completion in early 2027, the new headquarters aligns closely with DP World's broader vision to create modern, high-performance work environments across the Group — environments designed to support people, encourage collaboration, and reflect Dubai’s ambitions as a global hub for industry and innovation.
Uniting Teams in a Smarter Space
Located on a 13,390-square-metre plot beside the existing shipyard, the 44,779-square-metre complex will bring nearly 700 employees under one roof. The aim is simple: centralise operations, reduce silos, and improve day-to-day coordination across teams.
Importantly, its location offers direct access from Jumeirah Beach Road — giving employees, partners, and clients easier entry without needing to pass through restricted shipyard areas. It’s a practical shift that promises smoother movement, stronger security, and a more welcoming environment for visitors.
Leadership Backs a Future-Ready Vision
DP World Group Chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem called the new head office “another important milestone” in the organisation’s transformation journey.
He emphasised that the project reflects DP World's wider commitment to building smart, sustainable workplaces that empower people and support Dubai’s global ambitions.
Drydocks World CEO Captain Rado Antolovic said the new building represents the company’s confidence in the future: a place designed to help employees perform at their best, spark innovation, and strengthen the foundations of the business.
Juan Carlos Sahdala, DP World’s Group Chief Planning and Project Officer, added that the project is part of a much larger push to develop “next-generation workplaces” across the Group — spaces guided by smart design, advanced technology, and sustainable systems.
Built for Efficiency, Wellbeing, and Sustainability
Designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, the building will incorporate a range of smart, energy-efficient technologies including modern air systems, advanced safety infrastructure, and intelligent access control.
Employee wellbeing is also at the centre of the layout. Open-plan work areas, prayer rooms, dining spaces, fitness facilities, and multi-purpose halls will create a more connected, community-driven environment.
A multi-level parking structure with around 500 spots — including 50 electric vehicle charging bays — supports DP World’s global commitment to reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.
Part of a Bigger Picture
The new Drydocks World headquarters mirrors DP World’s own global head office taking shape at Expo City Dubai, with both projects expected to be completed in 2027. Together, they reflect a Group-wide approach to designing modern, sustainable workspaces built for performance and long-term growth.
For more than 40 years, Drydocks World has played a central role in establishing Dubai as a world-class maritime powerhouse. The new facility honours that legacy while preparing the company for the future — a future built on innovation, sustainability, and continued leadership in the global maritime sector.
Drydocks World’s upcoming headquarters is more than a new workplace — it is a statement of intent. As Dubai continues to reshape itself as an innovation-driven global hub, the project blends heritage with forward-thinking design, ensuring that one of the UAE’s most influential maritime players remains well-positioned for the demands of the future.
