Ras Al Khaimah has taken a major step toward strengthening its clean energy future.

In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) and Emerge — the joint venture between Masdar and EDF power solutions — signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding during the second edition of the Ras Al Khaimah Investment Summit (RAKIS).

The newly announced partnership aims to fast-track renewable energy adoption across RAKEZ’s industrial and business ecosystem, aligning with the UAE’s clean energy goals and Ras Al Khaimah’s Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Strategy 2040.

The MoU was formalized by Yaser Abdullah Al Ahmed, Chief Government & Corporate Relations Officer at RAKEZ, and Michel Abi Saab, General Manager of Emerge. The signing was witnessed by Luc Koechlin, CEO of EDF power solutions Middle East, and Ali Alshimmari, Emerge Board Member.

Powering the Future with Solar, Storage, and Hybrid Solutions

Under this collaboration, RAKEZ and Emerge will work together to identify and deploy sustainable energy projects across the economic zone. These projects will include solar power installations, energy storage systems, and hybrid clean energy solutions designed to support companies in reducing operational costs and lowering their carbon footprints.

A Shared Commitment to Sustainability

RAKEZ CEO Ramy Jallad praised the partnership, highlighting its importance for the emirate’s industry-ready sustainability vision:
