DHL Bags Green Fuels Transition Award

DHL’s recently launched Go Green and Go Green Plus services are testament to the company’s commitment to providing sustainable logistics solutions

Shipping major DHL has bagged the significant Green Fuels Transition Award at the SME Awards 2023. The award is an effort to recognise transport and logistics companies that promote and use of green fuels.

Sustainable fuel has been identified as one of the key elements in helping achieve the goals of sustainable transport.

In recent years DHL has been in mission mode to lower the carbon footprint of its global operations with the aim of reducing its carbon emissions to below 29 million tonnes by 2030.

On the occasion, Mary Oxley, VP Marketing & Sales - Middle East & Africa at DHL said that the biggest sustainability issue today is the speed at which supply chains are being decarbonised.

Ms Oxley added: "At DHL, we have a commitment of Zero Emissions by 2050. In 2021, we released our latest roadmap on sustainability, where we made a commitment to invest 7 billion euros by 2030, with intent to reduce carbon emissions under 29 million tonnes.”
