Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) has signed a major agreement to supply district cooling services to City Walk Phase 3 and the Verve building, reinforcing its leadership in sustainable cooling solutions.
Strategic Expansion in Key Developments
The agreement, signed with Meraas, will see Empower deliver more than 17,500 refrigeration tonnes (RT) of cooling capacity to the new developments.
This marks another step in expanding its footprint across Dubai’s rapidly growing real estate sector.
Meeting Rising Demand for Efficient Cooling
The deal reflects increasing demand for energy-efficient district cooling systems, especially as urban expansion accelerates across the emirate.
Empower continues to position itself as a key enabler of sustainable infrastructure by offering advanced cooling technologies that enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Strengthening Market Leadership
Empower’s total connected cooling capacity has reached around 1.7 million RT, serving nearly 1,750 buildings, while contracted capacity stands at approximately 2 million RT.
This growth highlights the company’s dominant position in the global district cooling market.
Supporting Sustainable Urban Growth
The new projects add to Empower’s expanding portfolio of landmark developments, aligning with Dubai’s long-term vision of sustainable and smart urban planning.
District cooling remains a critical solution in reducing energy consumption and supporting climate goals in high-density cities.
