A Major Step for the UAE’s Climate Action Ecosystem

In a significant move to strengthen the UAE’s climate leadership, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Frontier25, Abu Dhabi’s leading climate action advisory.

The partnership aims to enhance cooperation, knowledge-sharing, and coordinated action to combat climate change, promote innovation, and support sustainable economic growth across the country.

The agreement was signed in Abu Dhabi in the presence of Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President and CEO of Frontier25 and The Climate Tribe, and Her Excellency Dr Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment.

Strengthening Public-Private Collaboration

The agreement was formalised by Hind Alghseen, Executive Advisor to the President and CEO of Frontier25, and Her Excellency Dr Alanoud Abdulla Juma Alhaj Al Ali, Assistant Undersecretary at MOCCAE.

It establishes a framework for structured cooperation between the public and private sectors to accelerate climate solutions and ensure alignment with the UAE’s national climate priorities.

Knowledge Exchange and Policy Support at the Core

Under the partnership, Frontier25 will support MOCCAE by sharing insights and data on the UAE’s climate action ecosystem. Both parties will maintain active communication on climate-related developments and jointly explore opportunities to advance policy, innovation, and best practices.

The ministry will lead as a principal knowledge and implementation partner, with the collaboration also extending to joint promotion of UAE-led climate initiatives at future global climate summits, including COP events.

Driving Accountability and Decarbonisation Across Sectors

Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan said the agreement marks an important step toward building a stronger national climate action framework.

She highlighted that empowering businesses to take responsibility for decarbonising operations and cutting emissions is essential to achieving the UAE’s long-term goals.

She noted that the partnership will help unify efforts across key sectors, driving measurable climate impact and supporting the UAE’s commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

A Strategic Push Towards Climate Neutrality

UAE Minister Dr Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi described the collaboration as a clear signal of the importance of unified national action to meet the country’s ambitious climate objectives.

She stressed that effective public-private partnerships are no longer optional but critical to accelerating the transition towards climate neutrality by 2050.

She added that MOCCAE will continue to shape policy and regulatory frameworks that balance economic growth, social development, and global climate responsibilities, while working closely with partners like Frontier25 to translate policy into practical emissions-reduction solutions.

Building a High-Integrity National Climate Ecosystem

The partnership will also support the development of a high-integrity national climate action ecosystem, with Frontier25 contributing through policy research, capacity building, and knowledge exchange. The aim is to strengthen the effectiveness and credibility of the UAE’s decarbonisation roadmaps through robust standards, transparency, and international best practices.

This approach will further reinforce the UAE’s position as a regional and global hub for the green economy.

Conclusion: A Strong Foundation for Net Zero 2050

The collaboration between MOCCAE and Frontier25 marks a decisive step in strengthening the UAE’s climate action architecture.

By uniting government leadership with private-sector expertise, the partnership is set to accelerate policy implementation, boost accountability, and drive impactful emissions reductions—bringing the nation closer to its Net Zero 2050 ambition and reinforcing its role as a global climate leader.
