SABIC, a global leader in the chemical industry, welcomed Her Majesty, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, to the SABIC and Plastic Energy advanced recycling unit and the SABIC-owned hydrotreater unit.

The visit formed part of a broader working visit of the Queen to the Chemelot industrial site in Geleen, the Netherlands, to understand the efforts taking place on site in the field of circularity and sustainability.

Mr Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh CEO of SABIC, highlighted: "We were honored to be able to demonstrate to Her Majesty SABIC's commitment to driving a circular economy for plastics by touring our new advanced recycling unit, which is in the final stages of construction.

"By using advanced recycling processes, we are able to keep valuable, used plastic in the material stream, to use as a new feedstock to produce our circular polymers and offer more sustainable solutions to our customers."
