Technology Will Have a Positive Impact on Sustainability

Mentality of return on investment is an impediment on the road to sustainability

The awareness on sustainability is increasing among businesses and general public. The finance is there for investing in green project so is the technology.

Then what is missing - it is the mentality to have a return on investment, said Rohan Chopra, Regional Director, Sustainability - MEA, Johnson Controls.

Speaking at the Future of Sustainability conference, organised by Sustainability Middle East, Mr Chopra said the ROI is an impediment in the road to sustainability.

Most businesses look for short-term or immediate returns, thats where these kind of discussions help us take the right decisions. Legislations to incentivise also encourage businesses towards sustainable measures, he added.
