In a significant move to fast-track the Middle East’s clean energy transformation, Abunayyan Holding and Nextracker (Nasdaq: NXT) have entered into a joint venture to establish Nextracker Arabia, a Saudi-based company that will design, manufacture, and supply cutting-edge solar tracking systems and energy technologies across the Kingdom and the wider MENA region.

Headquartered in Riyadh, Nextracker Arabia will combine Abunayyan Holding’s 75 years of leadership in water and energy infrastructure with Nextracker’s global expertise in solar tracking and yield optimization systems. The collaboration aims to bolster Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by promoting clean energy, enhancing local manufacturing capacity, and diversifying the national economy.

The new venture will take over Nextracker’s existing manufacturing plant in Saudi Arabia, expanding it into a full-fledged production and distribution hub for advanced solar tracker systems, control technologies, and mechanical infrastructure for large-scale solar projects across MENA.

Nextracker Arabia will be a catalyst for MENA’s clean energy future,” said Turki Al-Amri, CEO of Abunayyan Holding. “Together, we aim to deliver efficient, cost-effective solar power at scale—driving long-term social and economic growth across Saudi Arabia and beyond.”

Dan Shugar, Founder and CEO of Nextracker, added:

“Partnering with Abunayyan Holding allows us to localize manufacturing and strengthen supply chains closer to our customers. We are proud to invest in the Kingdom’s clean energy journey and support Saudi Arabia’s leadership in the regional energy transition.”

Saudi Arabia is targeting 130 GW of clean energy by 2030, with solar playing a central role. The MENA region’s solar capacity is projected to exceed 180 GW by 2030, according to the Middle East Solar Industry Association’s 2025 Solar Outlook Report.

Nextracker already has a proven track record in Saudi Arabia, supplying systems for landmark projects such as the 405 MW Sakaka Solar Park, 1.17 GW Al Kahfah, 449 MW Tabarjal, and 904 MW Sudair projects—contributing over 3 GW of capacity within the Kingdom.

Turki Al-Amri will serve as Chairman and CEO of Nextracker Arabia, while Rajeev Kashyap, Nextracker’s Senior VP and GM for the Middle East, India, and Africa, will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer.
The venture is expected to launch operations in Q1 2026, following regulatory approvals and completion of legal formalities.
