Dubai Municipality to Privatise 8 Activities to Enhance Sustainability

HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai on Sunday announced restructuring of the Dubai Municipality with privatisation of eight main activities.

Featuring four new agencies, the restructuring facilitates enhanced governance, privatisation of eight main activities and $2.72 billion worth of new opportunities, HH Sheikh Hamdan said.

Dubai Municipality’s new organizational structure includes agencies for environment, facilities management, building permits and waste management.

HH stated: "Our goal is to build new productive partnerships, enhance financial sustainability, and develop services that raise the quality of life in Dubai.

"Dubai Municipality’s new agencies will develop a fresh set of plans that will further contribute to realising His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision for excellence.
